Biodiesel Sales
Costs of producing biodiesel
have escalated due to the huge increase in value of waste cooking
oil - now approx 55p/litre. Large companies are trying to
monopolise the waste oil collection industry and are also selling
the waste oil abroad.
When buying
in waste oils - as most biodiesel producers have to - it is impossible to sell
for less than £1.17.5p/litre without making a loss. At the same time, the
petroleum oil industry and the food industry are making record profits.

In
November 2004 Sundance launched the first community based
biodiesel plant and since then we have been selling biodiesel
off the pump from our unit near Ammanford or alternatively in 25
or 1,000 litre containers. Our fuel is 100% biodiesel
tested to meet the European Biodiesel Specification EN14214.
Our
price is an honest price, there are no hidden costs such as with
fossil fuels where the cost of environmental degradation,
extraction, refining and transportation are not passed onto the
consumer.

Local Biodiesel Filling Stations
Sundance Renewables has a vision of an extensive network of
local biodiesel filling stations across Wales. With the
help of a Big Lottery grant, St. David's Eco-City Project has a
PV powered 2,400 litre biodiesel filling station, supplied and
fitted by Sundance Renewables.
Julian Orchard,
project manager at St. David’s Eco City,
fills
his car with eco friendly fuel at Pembrokeshire's first bio
diesel station.
